Advantages of a Ductless Air System

Okay, so maybe you’ve never heard the term “ductless air conditioner” before. But unless you never leave your home, you’ve seen them. How do we know that? Because they’re everywhere. Not just in peoples’ homes, but in restaurants, retail shops, office buildings, medical buildings – just about anywhere you can think of.

And therein lies one of the great benefits of ductless air systems: almost limitless flexibility once you realize that, by definition, ductless heating and air systems don’t depend on air ducts to deliver warm or cool conditioned air.

As to where and how to use them? Let’s consider just some of the possibilities:

  1. Use one to heat and cool your entire home

  2. Use one for a new addition, converted attic, or finished basement

  3. Use one for AC only when you can’t install ductwork, or it would be cost prohibitive to do so

  4. A ductless air system for your garage is a great way to protect antique cars, prevent pipes from freezing, and multiple other uses – like, maybe that’s where your workshop is located?

  5. Have one installed on the upper level of your home for improved air conditioned comfort

But hang on a sec – we’ve already seen that ductless air systems don’t use air ducts. So how DO they heat and cool your living spaces? Each system consists of one or more outside condensing units. Each one can support up to 5 wall blowers, and each of those has it own remote control device.

Plus, what if you don’t have the space for wall-mounted blowers. There are also floor-standing models ceiling mounted blowers, and other options to make ductless air work for any home or family.

And now for the best part of all. GBT Heating & Cooling installs ductless systems of all types, and for all kinds of applications.
